CHAPTER 20. HIGHER EDUCATION ASSISTANCE

 

17:3031      State student incentive grant; federal participation

  A. The Louisiana Student Financial Assistance Commission is empowered to administer the state student incentive grant program for student financial aid as provided in Title IV of the Federal Higher Education Act (20 U.S.C.A. Sec. 1001 et seq.), as amended, and to prescribe appropriate rules and regulations applicable thereto. The commission is authorized to enter into contracts or agreements with the federal government for their financial participation in the program on such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon by the commission.

  B. The commission is authorized to implement a program to train and further acquaint administrators of financial aid and assistance with the federal and state programs of student financial aid, pursuant to the Federal Higher Education Act as amended by Public Law 944 (20 U.S.C.A. Sec. 1001 et seq.; 42 U.S.C.A. Secs. 2751, 2753, 2754.) The commission shall design and develop this program in consultation with the statewide financial aid administrators association. The commission may provide appropriate rules and regulations in order to execute this provision. The commission is authorized to enter into contracts or agreements with the federal government for their financial participation in the program on such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon by the commission.
