PARISH SCHOOL THE OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE GRANT

 BOARD OF THE PARISH OF GRANT, STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN

AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2012.

 

                The Parish School Board of the Parish of Grant, State of Louisiana, met in its regular meeting place, the Grant Parish School Board Office, Colfax, Louisiana, in Special Session, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 5:00 o’clock P.M.

 

                There were present Mr. Randy Browning, Mr. Terry Oliver, Mr. A.J. Lavespere, Mr. A.D. Futrell, Mr. Eddie Baxley, and Mrs. Karen Layton.

 

                Mr. Marvin DeLong and Mr. Buddy Pennison were absent.

 

                Mrs. Sheila S. Jackson, Secretary-Treasurer was also present.

 

                The Parish School Board of the Parish of Grant, State of Louisiana, was duly convened by Honorable A.J. Lavespere, President of the Grant Parish School Board, who then stated that the Parish School Board was ready to transact any business which may come before the Board.

 

                Motion by Mr. Baxley, seconded by Mrs. Layton and unanimously approved adopting South Grant’s millage rate.

                Motion by Mr. Baxley, seconded by Mr. Futrell to adopt a resolution providing for canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the special election held in the parish of Grant, State of Louisiana, for school purposes and Districts Nos. 1, 11, 31, and 33 of the Parish of Grant, State of Louisiana on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, to authorize the renewal and continuation of special taxes therin.

 

                Motion by Mr. Futrell, seconded by Mr. Baxley and unanimously approved to table, until the December 4, 2012 meeting, calling for a special meeting for the purpose of creating a consolidated district 33 maintenance tax for Grant Jr. High.

 

                Motion made by Mr. Baxley, seconded by Mr. Browning and unanimously agreed to accept the bid of $186,400.00 from James Crooks, for the old Dry Prong Jr. High School.

 

                Motion made by Mr. Baxley, seconded by Mrs. Layton and unanimously approved accepting the quote of $109,875.00 from Progressive, for erosion control at Grant Jr. High School.

 

                Motion by Mr. Futrell, seconded by Mr. Baxley and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting.
