THE OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE GRANT PARISH SCHOOL BOARD OF THE PARISH OF GRANT,

STATE OF LOUISIANA, TAKEN AT A SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2004

 

The Parish School Board of the Parish of Grant, State of Louisiana, met in its regular meeting place, the Grant Parish School Board Office, Colfax, Louisiana, in Special Session, Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 6:00 P.M.

 

The special meeting was called by Craig A. McCain, President of the Board, for the following:

 

1.  To employ Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance and/or Visiting Teacher

 

There were present H. Neal Reeder, Bobby Deen, Karen Layton, Eddie Baxley, Craig A. McCain, Gary Walker and A.D. Futrell.

 

ABSENT: Linda Amberg

 

Mrs. Sheila S. Jackson, Secretary-Treasurer was also present.

 

The Parish School Board of the Parish of Grant, State of Louisiana, was duly convened by Honorable Craig A. McCain, who then stated that the Parish School Board was ready to transact any business which the special meeting was called for which may come before the Board.

 

Motion was made by Mr. Futrell, seconded by Mr. Deen and unanimously approved to amend the agenda to add to consider employees sales tax payments.

 

Motion was made by Mr. Deen, seconded by Mr. Futrell and unanimously approved the Superintendent's recommendation to employ Oddis Lee Dunbar as  Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance and/or Visiting Teacher, effective 1/3/05.

 

The Superintendent stated that the school board would advertise for Assistant Principal at Dry Prong Junior High in the Alexandria Town Talk on Sunday, December 5, 2004 and the Colfax Chronicle on Thursday, December 9, 2004, at the schools and central office, with the deadline for applications being Monday, December 13, 2004 at 4:00 P.M.

 

Motion was made by Mr. Futrell, seconded by Mr. Walker and unanimously approved the sales tax distribution of $620.00 per full time employee, with the full amount being implemented and to be paid upon completion of the checks, for the first payment of the 2004-2005 sales tax distribution to all employees.

 

The meeting was adjourned by the President of the Board.
